COOKING CLASS + WORKSHOP | Blue Zone Wisdom: the Art of a Life Well Lived

  • HER Kitchen 1442 Hertel Avenue Buffalo, NY, 14216 United States (map)

Join us for an inspiring evening of longevity, learning, and nourishment.

We’re excited to welcome Eleni and George, visiting from the Blue Zone of Ikaria, Greece, (and yes — from the Netflixs series Living to 100!) for an event rooted in one of the world’s most remarkable lifestyles. Known for their vitality and longevity, Ikarians live with intention—through food, community, and daily habits that support well-being.

Now, they’re bringing their knowledge and experience to HER Kitchen in Buffalo.

The Ikarian Way: A Conversation on Longevity
Begin with a 45-minute talk exploring the lifestyle, food traditions, and daily choices that support long, healthy living. Sip on traditional Ikarian longevity tea while diving into thoughtful conversation.

Hands-On Cooking Class
Learn to prepare traditional Ikarian dishes alongside Eleni and George. This is a hands-on experience—rich with practical tips, cultural insight, and recipes you’ll bring home and make your own.

Shared Meal + Mindfulness
We’ll finish the evening gathered at the table, enjoying the dishes we’ve created together. This is more than a meal—it’s a chance to reflect, connect, and experience the Ikarian approach to living well.

Whether you’re passionate about wellness, love cooking, or just want to experience something new, this event is for you!

ABOUT GEROGE + ELENI

George Karimalis, a successful economist, relinquished his successful managerial career in a chain of stores in Athens, with a view to living a healthier life in nature. Starting his new life in Ikaria from scratch, he committed himself to salvaging the vineyards and the ancestral homes. The Karimalis winery was established in 1997. George Karimalis now focuses on organic viticulture and agriculture by implementing the principles of sustainability, and through devising and constructing systems for recycling waste and producing energy. Subsequent to his participation in numerous worldwide conferences, George has adopted the role of a mentor on healthy living and proper nutrition.

Eleni Karimalis has been engaged in Ikarian gastronomy and cooking since 1989 focusing mainly on a plant-based Mediterranean cuisine. She has had the chance to present her recipes and cooking skills on Greek television, as well as in various documentaries shown around the world.
