Chef Valentina Garcia-Montaño, a native of Argentina, will guide you through the art of making authentic empanadas from scratch—sharing her family techniques, stories, and flavors along the way. Together, we’ll learn how to prepare and fold these beloved pastries, with a focus on simple, beautiful ingredients and time-honored methods.
Throughout the class, you’ll be fully immersed in the process—working with your hands, learning essential techniques, and gaining the confidence to recreate these recipes at home.

My name is Valentina Garcia-Montano. As a chef, I am passionate about combining my Argentine cooking traditions with my fine dining experience to create an elevated yet authentic culinary experience where the food is the main focus.
Using local, fresh, and sustainable ingredients is my priority. My approach centers on community and excellence, ensuring the highest quality by sourcing the best local products available. I have called Buffalo my home for over two decades, and I am excited to share my best dishes and traditions with this community.
My culinary background started as a line cook at Tempo restaurant, then became a executive chef at Ristorante Lombardo, taking me to many other incredible work experiences to the present where in the executive chef at The Saturn Club Buffalo where i get to create seasonal menus and extraordinary chef tables and beautiful events including galas and many weddings.
I'm looking forward to sharing my passion and culture with this incredible group of ppl and my dear family at Her Kitchen !!
