Sue + Ciara Morreale of HER Kitchen, HER Story, + HER Sanctuary have joined forces with Sally Gower of Eat Well Buffalo and Sarah Nasca of Ashker’s Juice Bar + Cafe as they provide you with knowledge + tools of how to adopt a joyful, vibrant plant-powered lifestyle. Not only will it harmonize your body at a cellular level, but it will empower you to take charge of your own health, and live your best life. Any step toward a plant-based lifestyle is a positive one! We are here to support you on your wellness journey.

The classes will be held virtually through zoom. This will allow each participant to have a fully hands-on experience cooking, and to get more comfortable with cooking plant-based meals + ingredients in their own kitchen.

MEET THE HOSTS
SUE + CIARA of HER Kitchen
Susan believes a woman should always appreciate herself + honor her soul in everything she does. That philosophy has helped her create a business that inspires women to recognize their individuality, personal style and strength.
She has owned and operated her businesses with her daughter, Her Story + Her Sanctuary. What began in 1990 as retail business has grown into a destination where you can heal your mind-body-soul.
Taking care of yourself inside + out has always been important to Susan. She graduated from Niagara County Community College as an RN in 1985 and began her journey of nursing as a charge nurse at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Sue is a true believer in integrative health, working part time at a local functional medical practice, Cardea Health Integrative.
Susan is a true wellness warrior and advocate for the fight against breast cancer and continues to empower and inspire women to live their best possible life. She was recognized by the American Cancer Society for her wellness work in 2012 and has also been commissioned by Roswell Park Cancer Institute to create a healing sanctuary in their resource center.
Ciara, a long-time restaurant professional + certified sommelier is using her knowledge of hospitality, her passion for food + her dedication to celebrating ingredients to bring HER Kitchen to life.
SALLY of Eat Well Buffalo
Sally is a healthy eating advocate who believes that a nutritious, plant-based diet can be fun and exciting, even in a city that loves its beer and wings.
Sally started her wellness quest in the pharmaceutical industry in the 1980's. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of Buffalo, as well as her MBA in Marketing also from SUNY at Buffalo. Sally attended the Institute of Integrative Nutrition to earn her certified health coach title. Sally completed the coursework through Cornell to receive her plant-based nutrition certification. She attended the Culinary Intensive Workshop through the prestigious Conscious Gourmet Institute in Santa Fe, New Mexico. In 2018, Sally was selected to attend the Physician’s Committee For Responsible Medicine initiative in Washington, DC to become a certified Food For Life Educator. And in 2020, Sally became Nutritious Life Certified by completing the coursework at The Nutritious Life Studio by Keri Glassman.
Sally has always been a firm believer that we need to take responsibility for our own health as well as being a positive contributor to our WNY community. Our emphasis and direction should be on the prevention of disease and taking those steps to eat healthy (plant based, whole foods as much as possible), incorporating exercise into our daily lives, practicing mindfulness and meditation, as well as being committed to recycling, sustainability and making a difference in this wonderful community in which we live.
SARAH of Ashker’s Juice Bar + Cafe
Sarah is a firm believer in taking personal action for the well-being of yourself as well as those that make up your community. Sarah has been involved in owning a business, Ashker’s Juice Bar & Café. Ashker’s main focus has been to push themselves and their business to the forefront of health and wellness, through the food, beverage and atmosphere that they create for their shops.
Sarah’s background of healthy living, customer service, food preparation and education has led her to find a perfect fit in her job.
Ashker’s offers a casual atmosphere that is perfect for dining with friends, co-workers, and family members. The creative menu features a wide array of great selections, always made from the highest quality ingredients. Be sure to ask your server about daily specials and other notable menu selections. In-Class Discussion on plant-based cooking led by mother-daughter duo Susan Morreale (a registered nurse, breast cancer survivor, and plant-based advocate) and Ciara Morreale (a long-time restaurant industry professional + certified sommelier) of HER Story and Sally Gower of Eat Well Buffalo (a certified health coach + healthy eating advocate with a certification in plant-based nutrition from Cornell).

OPTION 1: INGREDIENTS INCLUDED
($1,000 + $12/person)
*Please note: at 100 participants, this would breakdown to $22/person - all included*
This would include a bag for each participant with all the ingredients needed to prepare one portion of each of the menu items. HER Kitchen/Ashker’s/Eat Well Buffalo will handle all of the ingredient sourcing, portioning, food-safe packaging + pick-up for the class. Pick up will be at Ashker’s (1002 Elmwood Ave) on Tuesday October 20th from 9am-6:30pm, and would include a staff member to distribute the ingredients from that location + monitor pick-up.
OPTION 2: INGREDIENT LIST ONLY
($850)
This would include a digital PDF ingredient list only. Attendees would be responsible for obtaining the ingredients prior to the class.
*Please note: if a grocery store gift card was provided, the cost of ingredients would be more, as the participants would have to purchase the full amounts of the ingredients (ie. 1 full head of cabbage vs 1/4 of cabbage).
